China Doll – Woolloomooloo, Restaurant Review
Posted on April 17, 2011 in Chinese, Featured by Eating in Sydney.

China Doll is situated on the vibrant and beautiful Finger Wharf at Woolloomooloo, where there is a whole myriad of eateries to choose from. And that includes the infamous Harry’s Cafe de Wheels :)
Even though we were seated outside on a bright sunny day, the seat we were allocated didn’t do justice to the location, as we were stuck next to wall with waiters constantly walking past.
Once seated we ordered a varieties of dishes ranging from squid, chicken, prawns to more chicken. Overall the entree’s and mains were quite nice. The chicken salad was especially beautiful as I’m a big fan of asian herbs and the light peanut sauce was an absolute delight. The chilli squid was also notably tasty, although it’s hard to go wrong with deep fried squid. For desert we ordered a trio of sorbet which was a great way to finish of the meals.
Having been there again after my first visit, I’m pleased to say that the interior of the restaurant is excellent! The bar is great and the service staff are attentive though slightly hurried. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after tasty Asian food in a great location close to the city.
What she said…
Great location. It was nice to be next to the water on a lovely sunny day. Service could do with an improvement. And not being a huge fan of Chinese cuisine, I was very impressed with the Chicken Salad.
