Crinitis – Darling Harbour, Italian Restaurant Review
Posted on April 24, 2011 in Featured, Italian by Eating in Sydney.

Ah Crinitis… Situated in the Harbourside Shopping Centre in Darling Harbour, this is an absolute gem of a restaurant! Overlooking the beautiful Sydney CBD skyline, expect to be fed to the brink here with delicious Italian food.
Although a little on the pricey side, the servings here are definitely more than generous! What is really astounding, and somewhat daunting at the same time, is the variety of dishes offered on the menu. It ranges from Woodfired Pizza with every topping imaginable, through to yummy Pasta dishes, all way to Steak, Ribs and Seafood! I’m sure there are well over 100 dishes to choose from!
On this occasion we ordered a Whole Snapper in Marinara Sauce ($43) and a Linguine Frank Sinatra ($33) as well as some Sangria. The Linguine (shown above) was simply delicious! Fresh seafood and pasta cooked just right in a rich tomato sauce. If you do make your way to Crinitis, I highly recommend this dish – It’s definitely my favourite Pasta dish from the menu.

The Whole Snapper in Marinara Sauce (shown above) at $43 is one of the more expensive items on the menu. Having said that, this dish is big enough to feed two people on it’s own. Again the Marinara sauce is delicious and so are the mussels, vongoles and other assorted seafood that come with the dish. The fish itself tastes great too, however, it is quite an effort picking through it carefully looking out for the bones.
The restaurant itself is massive and almost has a loud buffet feel about it. Probably not the place for a first date or wedding anniversary :) But when the menu is filled with steak, ribs, pasta and pizza, that’s not surprising. This would be an ideal place for a group of friends to have a laugh and enjoy great tasting good.
Out of all the restaurants in Darling Harbour, Crinitis is my favourite for many reasons. The sheer number of items on the menu offers more variety for discerning diners than most other restaurants. The enormous size of the restaurant also means there are more chances to get a table (although you should always book ahead). Lastly, and most importantly, the taste of the food here definitely hits the mark in my books. It may not be a three hat fine dining experience where every ingredient hits the palate just right, but if you want generous servings of good tasting food, Crinitis is definitely a winner!

went on a weekday with a business group of 12, we booked ahead. service was slow at best, food was ordinary and obviously prepard WILL in advance, location at darling harbour is always convient and a change from the city nearby, value, it was a corporate expense so who cares what the bill was, but was it worth $85 /phead, i think not. Only saving grace was thats its licensed so alcohol and a good business outcome saved this lunch / meeting. Overall 3 /10 been to better.
Hi Jimmy,
It’s a shame you had a bad experience at Crinitis. I’ve actually been there during a weekday lunch and found the service to be quick. And the food, obviously, can’t be compared to a fine dining restaurant, however, for a casual dining restaurant I think it’s great!
This restaurant is the worst place I’ve been
Too. Terrible service. Food took 1hr 10mins to
Come out. Shitty food. I don’t recommend
Eating at this place. I’ll never go back there
Again
I love Criniti’s. It’s a really good place for big birthday gatherings because of the 1m pizzas!! It works out to be pretty decently priced as well! It usually costs me $20-$25 when I am here with a group of 10-20 people.
