Il Piave – Rozelle, Italian Restaurant Review
Posted on April 24, 2011 in Featured, Italian by Eating in Sydney.

Il Piave is a cute little Italian Restaurant located on Darling Point Road in Rozelle. The area, and this road in particular, is quite a mecca for restaurants and cafes. So one has to produce exceptional food to have any success here.
Luckily for us, this is the case for Il Piave. From the the outside it may look very ordinary, and come to think of it, the interior is quite ordinary as well. Nothing much jumps out at you here until you taste the food.
We ordered some Zucchini Flowers (shown above) for entree and since this was my first time trying it, I was quite nervous. I mean who eats flowers anyway?? Much to my surprise, though, these were delicious!

For mains we ordered Snapper Fillets in a mash as well as some Pasta with Blue Swimmer crab meat (mains are about $30-$35). Both were incredibly fresh and delicious! They also had a nice selection of wines which went great with our meals.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a small restaurant, so it’s quite intimate when you’re inside. Definitely ideal for a date or an anniversary if you want to go somewhere different. A word of warning, though, finding a place to park can be quite a challenge here!

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s Day.
The food was out of this world. I highly recommend this restaurant to all italian food lovers.
It’s the best food in Sydney for the price and the nicest people who own the place. If you’re a coffee person, they run a great espresso bar in the morning and John their barista is a Balmain legend and serves the best coffee and cakes hands down.
Thanks for the info, Ron! I’ll have to pop in for coffee next time I’m there in the morning.
